A Bit About My Journey

I wasn’t always a chiropractor. At 17, I left high school to chase a dream of becoming a professional road cyclist. I spent time racing in Spain and Belgium before realizing that path wasn’t quite right for me. I came back to Canada and shifted gears—literally—into mountain biking, racing full-time in the Canada Cup and NORBA series as a pro for four seasons. It was a thrilling chapter, but not a lifelong career.

After that came another dream: professional snowboarding. I chased powder across Mount Washington, Whistler, and the North Shore mountains. But again, I knew there was something more I was meant to do.

Eventually, I landed at the University of British Columbia to study exercise science and human performance. While there, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the Vancouver Canucks and learn from some of the top minds in health and sport science. Those experiences helped guide me toward my true calling: chiropractic.

I moved to Toronto to attend the only chiropractic college in Canada, and during those challenging school years, I found balance by training for Ironman triathlons—including multiple finishes at Ironman Penticton.

When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me on the slopes at Red or exploring trails with a snowboard or mountain bike underfoot—or just enjoying time at home with the family. I’m genuinely excited to meet you, hear your story, and help you feel and function your best. Whether you’re curious about chiropractic or ready to make it part of your health routine, my door is open.

Who is Dr. Martin Zollinger?

Dr. Martin Zollinger is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic practicing in Rossland, BC. Before becoming a chiropractor, he spent years as a professional endurance athlete. First as a road cyclist racing in Spain and Belgium, then as a professional mountain bike racer on the Canada Cup and NORBA circuits, and later as a professional snowboarder across Whistler, Mount Washington, and the North Shore. That athletic background directly shapes how he treats patients today. He has personally lived through the kinds of injuries his patients bring in, and he understands what it feels like to need a practitioner who actually listens.

What qualifications does a Doctor of Chiropractic in Rossland BC have?

A Doctor of Chiropractic in British Columbia is a licensed primary healthcare provider with seven or more years of post secondary education. Dr. Martin Zollinger completed a degree in Exercise Science and Human Performance at the University of British Columbia, where he trained alongside the sport science team for the Vancouver Canucks. He then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada's only accredited chiropractic school. He is fully licensed by, and in good standing with, the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia.

Where can I find an experienced chiropractor in Rossland BC?

You can find one of the most experienced chiropractors in Rossland BC at Rossland Family Chiropractic, located in the Blue Velvet Health building at 2197 Columbia Avenue in downtown Rossland. Dr. Zollinger has over 16 years in clinical practice and has personally treated more than 10,000 patients across thousands of different presentations, from newborns to active seniors, weekend warriors to elite athletes, and pregnant patients to motor vehicle accident recoveries. That volume and range of experience means very few cases walk into the clinic that he has not successfully cared for before.

Why should you see a chiropractor?

You should see a chiropractor if you want to address pain at its root, improve how your body moves, and prevent small problems from becoming chronic ones. The spine protects the central nervous system, the single most important communication network in your body, and when parts of the spine are not moving correctly that communication suffers. The result is pain, stiffness, headaches, poor sleep, and reduced performance. Seeing a chiropractor helps in three ways: it resolves the specific issue bringing you in, it identifies upstream causes like posture, movement patterns, and daily habits so the problem is less likely to return, and it supports overall wellbeing. You do not need to be in pain to benefit from regular chiropractic care. Many patients use it as preventative maintenance, the same way they visit a dentist.

Is chiropractic care in Rossland BC safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is safe when delivered by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic using techniques appropriate for your age, body, and condition. Dr. Martin Zollinger is trained in both traditional manual adjustments and gentle, low force methods, so he can tailor each technique to the patient in front of him. Infants receive only fingertip level pressure. Seniors and patients with osteoporosis receive low force, instrument based care. Pregnant patients receive pregnancy appropriate techniques on specially designed tables. Before any adjustment is made, Dr. Zollinger completes a full health history and physical exam to screen for anything that would change the approach. Patient safety is built into the way he practices, not an afterthought.

What is Dr. Zollinger's approach to care?

Dr. Zollinger's approach is built on three principles: listen, assess properly, and teach. Every new patient visit begins with a real conversation about what hurts, when it started, what you have already tried, and what you want to get back to doing. Then comes a hands on spine and nervous system exam combined with digital posture imaging, so findings are measurable, not guesswork. Finally, every visit includes education. You should leave knowing what we found, what it means, how care works, and what you can do at home. Treatment blends gentle chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, postural correction, and home exercises. Care plans are personalized, never templated.

Is Dr. Zollinger accepting new patients in Rossland BC?

Yes. Dr. Martin Zollinger is actively accepting new patients in Rossland BC and welcomes patients from Warfield, Trail, Nelson, and the broader West Kootenay. Your first visit is a complete $95 new patient assessment. You can book online in under two minutes or call the clinic at 250 231 9100.
